Description
The ice-crystal (Bergeron) process. The greater number of water vapour molecules around the liquid droplet causes water molecules to diffuse from the liquid droplet toward the ice crystal. The ice crystal absorbs the water vapour by deposition and grows larger, whereas the water droplet grows smaller. This process continues until the ice crystal grows heavy enough and begins to fall.
